1. Climactic end to Doom as a threat. You can never permanently decisively beat him (200 came closest; his literal annihilation in ?278 confirmed this). All you can do is keep him constantly on the run from someone equaslly determined, equally inteligent.. himself. (200 foreshadowed this: he always hated mirrors, the mirrors drove him mad, Kristoff is hs mirror that he can never escape). Footnote: Simonson's shiny Doom is only Doom's self image - see the editor in ?358.
2. Climactic end to the family drama: there is no way back, they MUST put Franklin first. Sue: it's getting worse. Reed: Doom knows Franklin better than Reed does. In previous 2 years: possession, schizophrenia, Annihilus, Mephisto, Wizard, Mephisto again.
3. Beautiful final scene, summing up the past (from the first few years) and future.
